Systematic Manipulation

I just need to try and explain to the vast majority that the ways of this world is all in vain / living in this system and it’s structure that fluctuates and ruptures and tries to pass off as humane / it ain’t arcane / the roots of this country was founded on pain / colonize the new world and independent domain / but now we welcome the machine as the elite plot out their scheme and calling people like me the weakest link on the chain /I can spot what’s underlying but to them it’s deviant / defecting from the morals they chose for me to fit / shit, they’re pouring crazy chips up into battleships and preaching education when a fourth of the masses is illiterate / now don’t you think that’s in the least bit hypocritical / I try to be an optimist but all this keeps me cynical yo / if history truly is something repetitional / the power’s bound to fall cuz Sam’s already at his pinnacle / it’s pitiful trying to shape our mind state / playing games at high stakes keeps me irate / cuz there’s snakes in this garden and they’re watching you / thus a free country still costs a few / what do we do /
